「保存・再生か、取り壊しか」の間で揺れる、黒川紀章設計の世界的建築「中銀カプセルタワー」。
その希少価値と建築史における意義、未来の可能性を守るため、私財を投じて1つずつ購入し続けているカプセルオーナー所有の1カプセルを使って「こんなことをやってみたい、こんなふうに使ってみたい！」という人を対象に特別な見学＆説明会を開催します。
カプセル活用アイデア・自分がやりたいことを添えて当イベントにお申し込みください。

採用されたアイデアについては、全国の空き家・遊休不動産再生のための参加型プラットフォーム「ハロー！RENOVATION」にこの秋開設される空き家専門クラウドファンディングで、実現のための資金集めも行います。1カプセルのリノベーションから、タワー全体の保存・再生に向けたうねりを一緒に創り出しましょう。

■時間：①10:00-11:00 ②11:00-12:00 ③12:00-13:00 ④13:00-14:00 ⑤14:00-15:00
＊活用アイデアを添えて、お好きな回にお申し込み下さい。第１希望・第２希望を教えて下さい。
＊一度に入れる人数が限られますので、集中した場合は別の回へ調整させていただく場合がございます。
■内容：カプセルをいくつか見学した後、みんなで活用アイデアのブレストや「ハロー！RENOVATION」のクラウドファンディングの説明などを行います。

Nakagin Capsule Tower
　
Invitation to participate in a renovation project of modernist architectural masterpiece, starting with the renewal of one of its capsules

Anyone who passes by a conspicuous building which stands on a busy main road in the 8-chome area of Ginza will likely remember it because of its unforgettable appearance. The uniquely-designed “Nakagin Capsule Tower”, as it is known, houses 140 “capsule” housing units attached to two “towers”. Each capsule is about 10 m2 in size, and comes with a circular window. The capsules are detachable for upgrades, which is one of the interesting features of the building. Today, some new concepts for housing, such as two-based residency (having dual residences), tiny houses, mobile homes, Skelton-infill housing etc., that are suited to our contemporary lifestyles are in fashion; however, the Capsule Tower had already proposed these concepts some 45 years ago. So in essence we are the ones catching up with the concept of the Capsule Tower. Since the building became dilapidated, discussions concerning it being torn down were held many times; however, because a ‘metabolic’ feature of the structure was the systematic replacement of each capsule as needed, a local, active movement to preserve and renovate this famous architectural work has emerged.
We at “Hello! Renovation” will start with renovating one capsule. Together with all our supporters, we are aiming for the tower’s preservation and revitalization!
